SJU Ends 2017 Tennis Season With 6-3 Loss in MIAC Playoffs

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Saint John's tennis ended its 2017 season with a 6-3 loss at Bethel in the MIAC Playoff quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 2, in Arden Hills.

The Royals (17-5, 6-3 MIAC) swept all three doubles matches and the two squad split the singles competition.

Junior Tim Larson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) ended the season with an eight-match win streak thanks to a straight-set decision, 7-5 and 6-4, at No. 1. He ended the 2017 campaign with a 14-5 record, including a 13-4 (7-2 MIAC) mark at No. 1 for SJU (5-13, 4-5 MIAC).

Sophomore Hunter Krebsbach (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View) followed with a straight-set win (7-5 and 6-1) of his own at No. 4, while freshman Jess Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) battled to a three-set victory at No. 5.
