FORT MYERS, Fla. – Saint John's baseball ran its win streak to six games with two more victories on Monday, March 21, in Fort Myers, Fla.

The Johnnies (7-3 overall) started the day with a 12-0 shutout of St. Lawrence (N.Y.) and completed day's sweep with an 11-4 win over SUNY-Purchase.

SJU chipped away to a 4-0 lead before erupting for an eight-run eighth inning. Junior Alex Kendall (St. Cloud, Minn./Saint John's Prep) took care of the rest, allowing only four hits in the complete-game shutout. He struck out six Saints (0-6 overall) and walked one in the nine innings.

Senior catcher Gabe MacDonald (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI, while freshman outfielder Jack Wingerd (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) added three hits of his own.

The Johnnies answered the Panthers' (5-10 overall) run in the top of the second with six runs in the bottom half, including three consecutive on a walk and two hit batsmen with the bases loaded.

Freshman outfielder Max Jackson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) and junior third baseman Derek Schiebel (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) tallied three RBI at the top two spots in the lineup.

Sophomore Nick Noack (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) went eight innings in his first collegiate start on the mound, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits. He struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

The Johnnies take on Western Connecticut State and Keystone (Pa.) for a nine-inning game each, at 9 a.m. EDT and 12 p.m. EDT, respectively, on Tuesday, March 22, at Terry Park.
