SARTELL, Minn. – Saint John's tennis opened MIAC play with a 9-0 loss to No. 18 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Fitness Evolution in Sartell.

The Gusties (3-0, 1-0 MIAC) won all nine matches in straight sets. GAC also shut out Wisconsin-Eau Claire by a 9-0 score earlier in the day in St. Peter.

Freshman Ryan Meger (Stillwater, Minn./Mahtomedi) recorded the closest singles match for SJU (0-2, 0-1 MIAC) at No. 5, 6-4 and 6-4.

The Johnnies wrap up their conference-opening weekend when they host Concordia-Moorhead at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, in Sartell.
