Cedarville (6-3 overall) won the first two doubles matches by three points or less before the tandem of juniors
Joey Evavold (Andover, Minn./Anoka) and
Ben Lahren (Wausau, Wis./West) posted an 8-2 victory at No. 3.
The Yellow Jackets' stretch of wins carried over to singles play, where they won at Nos. 1-4, including a victory via the super-breaker over freshman
Tim Larson (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) at No. 2 (6-3, 4-6, 10-6).
Lahren snapped the skid for SJU (3-3 overall) with a win at No. 5 (6-2, 6-1) and junior
Tanner Rayman (Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley) posted a win at No. 5 with a 10-5 decision in the super-breaker (6-4, 1-6).
The Johnnies return home to open MIAC play with a 6 p.m. match against St. Thomas next Friday, March 13, at Fitness Evolution in Sartell.
