The Johnnies (7-10, 3-5 MIAC) won four matches via the tie-breaker and swept all six singles matches. Sophomore
Jack Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) and senior
Joe Laue (St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Angels) both won their matches at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, with a 10-8 decision in the super-breaker. Senior
Alex Wiegmann (Sunburg, Minn./New London-Spicer) won at No. 4 with a 10-5 victory in the super.
Junior
Jordan Otto (No. 3; Rice, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) and sophomores
Andrew Nagel (No. 5; Maple Grove, Minn.) and
Ben Lahren (No. 6; Wausau, Wis./West) won in straight sets.
The tandem of Laue and Wiegmann used a 7-5 win in the tie-breaker for the 9-8 triumph at No. 2 doubles, while Lahren and Otto won with an 8-6 tally at No. 3.
SMU (13-8, 2-6 MIAC) won its lone match at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (7-5).
SJU ends its regular season with a 2 p.m. match against Concordia-Moorhead on Sunday, April 27, at Fitness Evolution in Sartell. The match was originally scheduled outdoors at 11 a.m. Sunday, but was moved indoors due to the cold and wet forecast.
