ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John's ended its season with a 5-0 loss to No. 18 Gustavus Adolphus in the MIAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday, May  4, in St. Peter.

The Gusties (23-9, 9-0 MIAC) built a 3-0 lead with 8-2 decisions at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles and an 8-3 win at No. 3.

Juniors Joe Laue (St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Angels) and Connor Rust (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) fell at Nos. 2 (6-1, 6-0) and 3 (6-2, 6-1) singles. Senior Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) lost a 3-2 lead in his first set at No. 1 before falling, 6-3. The second set was tied 2-2 when the match ended. Freshman Jack Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd), meanwhile, was ahead 1-0 in his first set at No. 4.

The Johnnies end their season with an 8-13 overall record (5-4 MIAC).
