MIAC Release

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's sophomore Derek Brinker (St. Michael, Minn./Heritage Academy, Fla.) was named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, April 16.

Brinker led the nationally-ranked Johnnies with a career-best three-under par 69 and five birdies in the 295-302 dual win over St. Thomas March 28 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. The round was his first at par or below in his collegiate career.

The Johnnies, who are currently ranked third nationally by Golfstat, are scheduled to compete at the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational April 21-22.
