2013 SJU Soccer Schedule

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's opens its brand new soccer complex, Haws Field, and the 2013 season against Minnesota-Morris at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. The match is the first of eight home matches in the Johnnies' 17-game regular-season schedule.

SJU hosts Concordia (Wis.) Aug. 31 before embarking on a tough non-conference tour outside of Minnesota throughout the first two weeks of September. The Johnnies journey to Iowa Sept. 7-8 with matches at Wartburg (Sept. 7) and Luther (Sept. 8), and return to the region in a more-eastern course Sept. 14-15 at Wisconsin-Platteville and Loras (Iowa). Loras reached the Final Four in 2012, falling to eventual national champion Messiah (Pa.) 1-0 in overtime. Platteville, meanwhile, made it to the 16-team quarterfinal round before falling to Loras (2-1) and Loras advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2011.

The Johnnies begin MIAC play at Hamline Sept. 18 before hosting St. Olaf (Sept. 21) and Gustavus Adolphus (Sept. 28). Four of SJU's seven matches during the month of October are at home: Wisconsin-Superior (Oct. 8), Bethel (Oct. 12), St. Thomas (Oct. 16) and Saint Mary's (Oct. 26). The regular season concludes Nov. 2 at Concordia-Moorhead.

SJU finished the 2012 season with a 6-2-2 record in the MIAC to finish fourth (9-6-4 overall). The Johnnies posted a 1-1-1 record against the conference's top three teams, including a 2-1 win over Carleton. Head coach John Haws is expected to return all 120 points (39g/42a) recorded this fall and all three goalkeepers next season.
