HANOVER, Ind. – Saint John's University senior Matt Scherber (Royalton, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) finished 195th out of 275 runners at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Hanover, Ind.

Scherber ended the 8k race in 26:32, 2:03 behind the winner, Connecticut College's Michael LeDuc. A competitor stepped on the back of his shoe at the first turn (400 meters) and it eventually came off with 4.5 miles left.

St. Olaf represented the MIAC well by winning the national team title with a total of 84 points, two ahead of North Central (Ill.).
