SARTELL, Minn. – Saint John's lost its conference opener to Gustavus Adolphus by a final score of 8-1 on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Sartell.

Senior Ian Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) earned lone win for SJU (0-3, 0-1 MIAC) at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-2). He is now 3-0 this spring.

Junior Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) dropped his first match at No. 1 singles (7-5, 7-5) since injuring his ankle two weeks ago.

The Gusties (2-2, 2-0 MIAC) swept all three doubles matches with an 8-3 decision.

The Johnnies travel to face St. Scholastica for a noon match on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Arrowhead Tennis Center in Duluth.
