Tennis' Skid Continues With Loss to St. Olaf

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Saint John's woes continued with a 6-3 loss to St. Olaf on Saturday, April 9, in St. Joseph.

Sophomore Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) improved to 5-2 (2-2 MIAC) at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 5-7 and 10-5 win.

Freshman Joe Laue (St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Angels) improved to a team-best 9-2 (3-1 MIAC) with a 5-7, 6-3 and 10-3 at No. 3 singles.

Sophomore Zach Shriwise (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley West) earned the Johnnies' other win with a 3-6, 6-3 and 11-9 win at No. 6 singles.

The Oles (6-4, 5-2 MIAC) won all three doubles matches as SJU (6-5, 0-4 MIAC) fell to 3-9 in conference play in doubles competition.

The Johnnies travel to face Concordia-Moorhead for their third match in as many days this Sunday, April 10. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Moorhead.
