The Johnnies (8-8, 2-6 MIAC) travel to face Carleton for their regular-season finale this Saturday, April 30. The match is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at LifeTime Fitness in Lakeville.

A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's dropped a 6-3 decision to Division II St. Cloud State on Thursday, April 28, in Collegeville. The match was the first for the Johnnies (8-8, 2-6 MIAC) at their outdoor courts this season and will be the last at its current location. The outdoor tennis courts are scheduled to be moved near SJU's baseball and soccer fields this summer.

Sophomore Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) improved to 8-4 at No. 1 singles with a 6-3 and 7-6 (7-5) win. He and junior Ian Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) teamed up to claim an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Senior Elliott Elm (Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels) and sophomore Zach Shriwise (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley West) earned SJU's other win at No. 2 doubles (8-6).

A LOOK AT THE KNIGHTS: Carleton (14-4, 6-1 MIAC), which hosts Hamline today (April 29), was ranked No. 12 in the latest ITA Central Rankings released April 14. The Knights have won three straight since their 8-1 loss to nationally-ranked Gustavus and are a combined 32-4 at Nos. 4- and 5 singles.

LAST YEAR: After losing the first set 7-5, Moncada tallied his first collegiate win with a 6-0 shutout in the second set before his opponent defaulted the super-breaker for the Johnnies' lone victory in the 8-1 loss to then-No. 18 Carleton last spring.
