DULUTH, Minn. – Saint John's swept all nine matches to earn its first victory of the season over St. Scholastica on Saturday, Feb. 20, in Duluth.

Freshman Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy), sophomore Ian Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd), junior Elliott Elm (Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels) and senior Luke Odegaard (Forest Lake, Minn.) all won singles matches in straight sets. Senior Dutch Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) and sophomore Justin LaBeaux (Sartell, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) tallied victories at Nos. 2 and 6 singles, respectively, in the super-breaker.

The Johnnies (1-2, 0-1 MIAC) then swept all three doubles matches.

SJU returns to MIAC action Sunday, Feb. 21, at St. Thomas. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Baseline Tennis Club in Minneapolis.
