Johnnies End Season With 7-2 Loss

ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John's ended its season with a 7-2 loss to St. Olaf in the first round of the MIAC Playoffs on Friday, May 1, in St. Peter.

The Hansen brothers (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd), junior Dutch and freshman Ian, earned the Johnnies' two victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Dutch dropped his first set 6-3 but stormed back with a 6-1 win and a 10-5 victory in the super-breaker. Ian, meanwhile, cruised to a 6-0 and 6-3 win.

Senior Eric Inglis (Hutchinson, Minn.) ended his career with a tough at No. 6 singles. Inglis won the first set 6-4, but lost the second set 6-3 and dropped a close 10-8 decision in the super-breaker.

Dutch and senior Kevin Goihl (Litchfield, Minn.) dropped a close 9-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.

SJU ends the season with a 9-9 overall record and a 5-4 record in the MIAC.
