The Johnnies travel to face Carleton this Saturday, Oct. 3. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Northfield. - Directions

A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's (4-4, 1-2 MIAC) fell at Central (Iowa) 5-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Six Johnnie starters stayed back in Collegeville due to academic obligations (exams, labs). Central (5-4, 0-0 IIAC) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with two goals in the first nine minutes of the match. The Dutch then added two goals, 1:58 apart, to take a 4-0 lead into the half. The home team added the fifth and final goal at the 53:14 mark of the second half. Senior Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) played the first 45 minutes in goal and made five saves. Junior Matt Anderson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made one save in the second half. Twenty-two Johnnies saw action in the match. Since 1988, SJU is 15-5-1 against Carleton. The Johnnies are just 6-4, however, against the Knights in Northfield during that span.

A LOOK AT THE KNIGHTS: Carleton currently sits in first place atop the MIAC with a 4-1 record (12 points) and a 6-3 record overall. The Knights enter Saturday's match riding a four-game winning streak, in which they have outscored their opponents 12-1. Sophomore forward Tim Wills leads Carleton with 18 points (6g/6a), while junior midfielder Wes Elfman and sophomore forward Miles Silbert follow with 10 (3g/4a) and nine points (4g/1a), respectively. Junior keeper Pete Semmer is 5-3 with a 1.14 GAA this season. Three of his five wins are shutouts.

THE LAST MEETING: Carleton's Ryan Cammarota scored with 1:27 remaining in the first overtime to give the Knights a 3-2 victory over Saint John's on Sept. 14, 2008, in Collegeville. Carleton, ranked No. 21 nationally, led 2-0 at the half thanks to goals from Bobby Phillips (9:03) and Ross Hamilton (40:20). Kellen Groves put the Johnnies on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal 2:34 into the second half. The Johnnies then tied the game on a backwards header from Levi Lowell with 1:01 left in regulation to send the game to overtime. The goal came off of a free kick from sophomore defender Chris Hagen (Blacksburg, Va.). SJU outshot the Knights 18-16 in the game, including an 11-7 advantage on goal. - Box Score
