SJU Soccer Falls in Double Overtime, 2-1

DECORAH, Iowa – Saint John's fell to Luther College 2-1 in overtime on Sunday, Oct. 19 in Decorah, Iowa.

Sophomore Colin Hall (Maple Grove, Minn.) put the Johnnies ahead 1-0 with his fifth goal of the season 11:30 into the match. Sophomore A.J. Sollom (Roberts, Wis./River Falls) and senior Tyler Kodet (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) assisted on the scoring play for SJU.

Luther tied the game at the 56:04 mark of the second half before Adam Pyzdrowski won it for the Norse with his 11th goal of the season 2:35 into the second overtime.

Junior goalkeeper Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) made one save thru the first 45 minutes, while sophomore Matt Anderson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made two saves in the loss. Kodet played the first four minutes of the second half in goal but did not face a shot. Kodet has now played every position during his four-year career at SJU.

SJU head coach Pat Haws rested his two leading scorers, Levi Lowell and Brian Horst, as well as captain Jason Daly.

The Johnnies (10-6, 5-3 MIAC) return to conference action next Saturday, Oct. 25 when they play host to Augsburg. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Durenberger Field in Collegeville.
