Saint John's University senior Eric Buss (Coon Rapids, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday, March 2.
Buss recorded a triple jump of 14.38 meters (47-2 1/4) to win the event at The Qualifier hosted by St. Olaf this past Saturday, Feb. 28. The triple jump distance is good for a NCAA provisional qualifying mark and ranks him 12th in NCAA Division III this season. Buss also finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.42 meters.
The Johnnies return to action at the MIAC Heptathlon this Thursday, March 5, before the 2009 MIAC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, at Concordia-Moorhead.
