Saint John's junior Connor Cline (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) batted .538 (7-for-13), including a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 12th in the 7-6 win over Concordia (April 7), as the Johnnies posted its first 4-0 start in the MIAC since 2007 last week. The rest of the team batted .216 (24-for-111) in the four games. He was named the MIAC Player of the Week for his performance.

Cline went 3-for-4 with an RBI as the designated hitter in the 7-5 win over Carleton April 4 before taking the mound in game two, allowing two runs on six hits with five strikeouts to improve to 4-2 on the season (3.44 ERA, .214 opp. BA, 36.2 IP). He went 4-for-9 (.444) with three runs scored and two RBI in the sweep of Concordia Saturday, his first two starts at first base since last season. He jumped on a 3-2 pitch for the two-out, walkoff home run in game two, his first of the season and third of his career. Cline is batting .429 (12-for-28) in his last eight games in the lineup.

The Johnnies (16-6, 4-0 MIAC) travel to face nationally-ranked St. Thomas for a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday, April 10, in St. Paul.
