Saint John's University senior Tom Hoffman (Mahtomedi, Minn.) broke 31-year old school record in the 800 meters at the La Crosse Qualifier May 19 and currently boasts the fourth-best time in Division III (1:50.16). He will compete in the event at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Friday, May 27, in Delaware, Ohio. Pending qualification in Friday's trials, he would compete again Saturday.
Hoffman will be joined by fellow seniors Griffin Hayes (Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) and Tim Juba (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park) in the discus and hammer throw, respectively.
