MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. – Saint John's golf finished fourth out of 15 teams at Bethel's Minnesota Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 21, at Pioneer Creek G.C. (par 72).

Bethel won its home invite with a 290-283-289-862 (-2). Wisconsin-Stout finished second after shooting Monday's best round (-8) and tallied an 864 total. Wisconsin-Eau Claire was two shots ahead of SJU in third (874, +10). The Johnnies finished 12-over par after tallying a 297 (+9) on Monday.  

Freshman William Andrus (St. George, Utah/Homeschool) led SJU in 15th after shooting 1-under par on Monday morning. He tallied three birdies and was 2-under on his back-nine for a 71. 

Junior Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) was next for SJU, dropping 18 spots after carding a 4-over 76 in his final round. He was five shots over on the front nine, but made up ground with a pair of birdies to shoot his back nine 1-under. 

Sophomore Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) finished with a 74 (+2) in round three. He birdied three holes en route to a final position of 46th.  

SJU sophomore Lukas Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) dropped after carding a 7-over 79 in round three for 57th. Senior Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) also shot a 76 on Monday to finish 61st overall (+12).  

Freshman Abe Walther (St. Paul, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) led SJU Blue in 49th with a pair of birdies and a 79 on Monday (+7). 

The Johnnies host their annual fall invitational this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27. Saturday's opening round begins at 1 p.m. at St. Cloud C.C., followed by an 8 a.m. start Sunday at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in Sartell.
