CSC Release

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Three Saint John's student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District tennis team on Tuesday, May 12.

The three Johnnies honored were senior Taylor Duncan (Benson, Minn.), junior Alex Draeger (Litchfield, Minn.) and sophomore Andrew Eckmann (Eagan, Minn./Two Rivers).

Each institution can nominate up to four student-athletes for Academic All-District recognition in tennis. Nominees must be a sophomore or older with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Athletically, tennis student-athletes must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count).

The Academic All-District honor is the second-consecutive for Draeger and Duncan, and the first for Eckmann. Duncan is expected to earn his third Academic All-MIAC (minimum 3.5 GPA) honor this summer, which would be the second for Draeger and the first for Eckmann.

A computer science major with a 3.88 GPA, Draeger earned All-MIAC tennis honors in doubles competition with sophomore Cole Haabala (Alexandria, Minn.) May 5. The duo posted a 4-5 MIAC record (5-8 overall) at No. 1 doubles this season. The All-MIAC honor was the second-consecutive for Draeger, who earned it with junior Sam Wolden (St. Louis Park, Minn.) last spring. Draeger was also All-MIAC honorable mention is singles in 2025 and doubles in 2024.

Duncan is a global business leadership major with a 3.57 GPA. He participated in all 14 team matches and posted a 2-12 (1-8 MIAC) singles record across Nos. 1 (0-5) and 2 (2-7), and went 7-7 (4-5 MIAC) in doubles competition.

Eckmann also played all 14 matches and totaled a 4-10 (3-6 MIAC) singles record and collected a 2-12 (1-8 MIAC) mark in doubles play. He is a biology major with a 3.78 GPA.

The Johnnies finished eighth in the MIAC with a 1-8 record (2-12 overall) in 2026.
