BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Saint John's junior forward Chris Kernan (Maple Grove, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Hockey Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 9.

Kernan totaled four points (1g/3a) and a team-leading seven shots on goal for SJU (11-6-4, 6-3-3 MIAC) in last weekend's split against Gustavus Adolphus. He totaled a career-high three assists in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss in St. Peter and scored the game-winning goal – an unassisted breakaway – in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory in St. Cloud. Saturday's game-winner came after he survived a shift of 1:37, largely in the defensive zone during the 3-on-3 overtime. 

The Johnnies open the regular-season's second-to-last series by hosting Augsburg (6-12-3, 3-7-2 MIAC) for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
