Day 3 Results
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Saint John's senior
Brayden Slavik (Green Isle, Minn./Chaska) won his second conference title of the meet on Day 3 of the 2026 MIAC Championships on Friday, Feb. 13, at the University of Minnesota Jean Freeman Aquatic Center.
Gustavus Adolphus leads the six-team field with 658 points, followed by Carleton (441.5), Saint John's (388) and Macalester (333.5).
Slavik won his third-consecutive conference title in the 400-yard individual medley with an SJU-record and NCAA B-cut time of 3:57.55, which was over seven seconds ahead of second place (4:04.82). The time broke Slavik's own record time of 4:00.12 set last year. Freshman
Lincoln Cochran (Helena, Mont./Capital) followed him in seventh (4:14.02).
Three Johnnies combined for nine points in the 400 IM's B final, led by junior
Trevor Barton's (Buffalo, Minn.) 11th-place time of 4:21.70. Junior
Luis Flores (Hugo, Minn./Mahtomedi) and freshman
Dylan Murphy (Hamel, Minn./Wayzata) followed in 15th (4:36.87) and 16th (4:44.28), respectively.
Junior
Cody Watts (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) collected his fourth All-MIAC honor (top three at the MIAC Championships) with a career-best second-place finish in the 1-meter dive (434.05). Senior
Tim Rotter (Blaine, Minn.) and sophomore
Henry Hilgendorf (Owatonna, Minn.) mirrored Wednesday night's podium in the 3-meter dive by finishing fourth (370.40) and fifth (351.40), respectively.
A pair of freshmen led SJU in the 200-yard freestyle.
Vincent Schulze (Eden Prairie, Minn.) just missed his first individual, All-MIAC honor with a fourth-place time of 1:43.81, which was 0:00.22 from third.
Braydon Ohrtman (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) followed in eighth (1:45.61).
Senior
Clay Megaw (Monticello, Minn.), like Schulze, fell one spot shy of All-MIAC honors with a fourth-place time of 57.86 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke. Three other Johnnies followed him in the B final: sophomore
Jason Jones (Monticello, Minn.) in 12th (1:00.03), junior
Brennan Close (Princeton, Minn.) in 14th (1:02.12) and junior
Simon Nyangamoi (Harrisburg, S.D.) in 16th (1:03.82).
A trio of Johnnies registered team points in the 100-yard backstroke's B final. Senior
Andrew Roggeman (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) led the way in 11th (54.48), while freshman
Tanner Betts (Stacy, Minn./Chisago Lakes) took 14th (55.52) and sophomore
Riley Yerks (Hutchinson, Minn.) claimed 16th (58.16).
SJU's 200-yard freestyle relay (Schulze, Slavik,
Jackson Hovda,
David Lammers) finished fifth (1:25.71).
The fourth and final day of competition begins with prelims at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by finals at 6:30 p.m. in Minneapolis. The men's side features the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard freestyle relay.
