Watts Named CSCAA Scholar All-American for Second Time

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University rising senior diver Cody Watts (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America second-team honors, presented by Fitter & Faster Swim Camps, for the second-consecutive season on July 2.

To qualify for the Scholar All-America first team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated at nationals. Second-team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met an NIC "A" time standard in Division I or an NCAA "B" qualifying standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet for Division II, Division III and NAIA.

An exercise and health science major (pre-chiropractic emphasis) with a 3.76 GPA, Watts competed at the NCAA Regional for the second-straight season and finished eighth in the 1-meter dive and 18th on the 3-meter board. He earned his third and fourth All-MIAC honor (top three) with a second-place score in the 1-meter dive and third on the 3-meter board at the 2026 MIAC Championships.

The SJU swimming and diving team achieved CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for Spring 2026 on July 1. In total, 714 programs earned the honor, which is achieved by posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring term. The 28 Johnnies combined for a 3.55 GPA last semester.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

The Johnnies finished third out of six teams Feb. 11-14 at the 2026 MIAC Championships and tied for 37th out of 46 teams March 18-21 at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
