Results
ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John's swimming and diving won eight events and recorded 26 top-five marks/times in a 173-126 loss at Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Senior
Brayden Slavik (Green Isle, Minn./Chaska) led the Johnnies with three individual wins on the day. He touched the wall first in the 400-yard individual medley (4:14.02), 500-yard freestyle (4:51.03) and 1,000-yard freestyle (9:51.90).
Junior
Cody Watts (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) swept the diving events, taking first in the 1- (496.85) and 3-meter (438.80), while senior
Tim Rotter (Blaine, Minn.) claimed second in both (409.60 in the 1- and 358.15 on the 3-meter board). Sophomore
Henry Hilgendorf (Owatonna, Minn.) was third in the 1- (395.85) and fourth in the 3-meter dive (287.50).
Senior
Carsten Reuter (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.77 seconds and took fifth (56.34), 0.05 behind sophomore
Jackson Hovda (Sartell, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) in fourth (56.29) in the 100-yard butterfly.
Senior
Clay Megaw (Monticello, Minn.) posted a first-place time in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.58) and was second in the 100-yard version (1:00.40).
Freshman
Vincent Schulze (Eden Prairie, Minn.) accounted for the Johnnies' eighth win, the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.61), and claimed second in the 100-yard event (48.49).
Two other Johnnies posted a pair of top-five times on the day. Junior
Trevor Barton (Buffalo, Minn.) was third in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:28.81) and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.68), while sophomore
Jason Jones (Monticello, Minn.) took fifth in both the 100- (1:02.55) and 200-yard (2:21.05) breaststrokes.
SJU's other top-five times:

Tanner Betts (Stacy, Minn./Chisago Lakes), third in the 100-yard backstroke (58.83);

Andrew Roggeman (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech), fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (58.88).
SJU's 400-yard freestyle relay (Ohrtman, Schulze, Reuter, Lammers) finished second (3:16.91) and the 200-yard medley relay (Slavik, Megaw, Lammers, Schulze) was fourth (1:39.33).
The Johnnies return home to host Carleton at noon next Saturday, Jan. 24, in the Warner Palaestra Pool.
