Tennis Team & Six Johnnies Earn ITA Academic Accolades

TEMPE, Ariz. – The 2025 Saint John's University tennis team and six student-athletes achieved academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday, July 23. 

To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team Award, an institution must submit the academic year's grade-point averages for each student-athlete on the roster and carry a team GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The 10 Johnnies combined for a 3.46 GPA in 2024-25.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must have a grade-point average of 3.50 or better for the current academic year.

The Johnnies recognized were (alphabetically, academic years are for 2024-25):

-Senior Cooper Anderson (White Bear Lake, Minn.), a global business leadership and mathematics double-major;
-Junior Finn Dolezal (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./East Ridge), an economics major; 
-Sophomore Alex Draeger (Litchfield, Minn.), a computer science major;
-Junior Taylor Duncan (Benson, Minn.), a global business leadership major;
-Freshman Andrew Eckmann (Eagan, Minn./Two Rivers), an undecided major;
-Sophomore Sam Wolden (St. Louis Park, Minn.), an accounting major.

The Johnnies tied for seventh in the MIAC with a 3-6 record (8-9 overall) this spring.
