CSC Release

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Four Saint John's student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District tennis team on Tuesday, May 13.

The four Johnnies honored were senior Cooper Anderson (White Bear Lake, Minn.), sophomore Alex Draeger (Litchfield, Minn.), junior Taylor Duncan (Benson, Minn.) and sophomore Sam Wolden (St. Louis Park, Minn.).

Each institution can nominate up to four student-athletes for Academic All-District recognition in tennis. Nominees must be a sophomore or older with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Athletically, tennis student-athletes must be in the lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team.

The Academic All-District honor is the second-consecutive for Anderson, who is a global business leadership and mathematics double-major with a 3.52 GPA. Anderson is expected to achieve his sixth Academic All-MIAC honor (minimum 3.5 GPA) next month and third in tennis (three others as a hockey student-athlete). He went 9-12 (2-7 MIAC) in singles play, primarily at No. 3, and 6-12 (3-6 MIAC) with a 5-11 mark at No. 1 doubles this spring and ended his career with a 17-16 mark (4-7 MIAC) in singles and 16-34 (8-16 MIAC) in doubles.

Duncan is a global business leadership major with a 3.54 GPA and posted an 8-10 (3-6 MIAC) record in both singles and doubles (7-9 at No. 3) play this season.

Draeger and Wolden earned All-MIAC honors last week (May 6). Wolden received All-MIAC recognition in singles competition for the second-straight season and collected the honor for doubles play with Draeger, who was named All-MIAC honorable mention in singles.

The duo posted an 11-7 record this season, including a 10-6 mark at No. 2 (5-4 MIAC).

In singles competition, Wolden was 11-4 (6-2 MIAC) at No. 2, while Draeger posted a 16-4 record across Nos. 4-6. Wolden is an accounting major with a 3.69 GPA and Draeger is a computer science major with a 3.84 GPA.

Draeger's 16 singles wins were the most by a Johnnie since Fabricio Moncada '13 went 20-6 in 2013. Draeger missed All-MIAC honors by one point and collected a 13-3 mark in duals, including a 6-3 record in MIAC play: 5-3 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 5 and 7-0 at No. 6. He was All-MIAC honorable mention in doubles play as a freshman in 2024.

The Johnnies tied for seventh in the MIAC with a 3-6 record (8-9 overall) in 2025.
