Final Results
NORMAL, Ill. – Saint John's golf finished third out of 38 teams at the two-day Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, April 5, at Weibring G.C. (par 71).
The Johnnies recorded the day's best round – a 2-over par 286 – to finish third with a two-round total of 583 (+11). Illinois Wesleyan's second team won the tournament with a 575 (+3) and No. 9 Aurora (Ill.) was second, one shot ahead of SJU, with a 582 (+10). The Johnnies edged the host Titans' varsity, which is ranked No. 4 nationally, by one shot in fourth place (+12, 584).
Juniors
Ethan Kress (Woodbury, Minn.) and
Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) led SJU Saturday with an even-par 71 each. Kress carded five birdies and tied with senior
Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) for 11th out of 228 golfers with a two-round score of 145 (+2).

Gus Briguet (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) posted a final-round score of 73 (+1) each. Briguet tied for 14th at 146 (+3) and Fultz tied for 18th at 147 (+4). Freshman
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 66th (+9, 152).
The Johnnies compete at Gustavus Adolphus' Bobby Krig Invitational on Friday (Le Sueur C.C.)-Saturday (New Prague G.C.), April 18-19.
