Final Results
NEW PRAGUE, Minn. – No. 25 Saint John's finished fourth out of 15 teams at Gustavus Adolphus' Bobby Krig Invitational on Saturday, April 19, at New Prague G.C. (par 71).
The host Gusties matched Friday's second round with another +7 (291) to win the tournament by 15 shots with a three-round total of 869 (+25). No. 19 Wisconsin-Eau Claire was second with an 884 (+40), followed by Bethel (+42, 886), SJU (+44, 888) and Carleton (+65, 909).
SJU recorded Saturday's second-best round with a 298 (+14).
Senior
Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) led SJU Saturday with a 1-over par 72 to tie for sixth out of 90 golfers with a 220 (+9). He recorded three birdies on the back nine (four total).
Juniors
Gus Briguet (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) and
Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) and freshman
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) all tied for 17th with a 225 (+14) each. Briguet matched Boemer's four birdies for a final-round score of 73 (+2) and Fultz tallied a 75 (+4).
Junior
Ethan Kress (Woodbury, Minn.) rounded out the Johnnies' five with a 227 (+16) to tie for 24th.
SJU Blue posted a 325 (+41) to fall four spots to ninth with a 928 (+84). Freshman
Marty Timmons (Brainerd, Minn.) led the fivesome in a tie for 36th with a 231 (+20).
Seniors
Will Gruidl (Edina, Minn./Minnehaha Academy) and
Cole Proctor (Brainerd, Minn.) played as individuals and finished 12th (+12, 223) and 22nd (+15, 226), respectively. Proctor led the tournament with 39 pars over the three rounds.
The Johnnies host their annual spring invitational next Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27. The tournament begins with tee times at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wapicada G.C. (par 72) in St. Cloud, followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start Sunday at Monticello C.C. (par 71).
