Johnnie Golf Finishes Sixth at Twin Cities Classic

Final Results

LE SUEUR, Minn. – No. 14 Saint John's golf finished sixth out of 17 teams at the three-day Twin Cities Classic on Monday, Sept. 30, at Le Sueur C.C. (par 70).

Carleton won the tournament with a three-round score of 878 +22), one shot ahead of No. 16 Bethel at 879 (+23). The tourney's host, No. 24 Gustavus Adolphus, posted the day's best round of 290 (+10) to jump four spots to third at 882 (+26). Nebraska Wesleyan fell three spots to fourth at 892 (+36), followed by Gustavus' second team (+39, 895) and SJU (+42, 898).

Senior Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) led the Johnnies in a tie for second place out of 100 golfers with a three-day total of 215 (+1). He collected a 3-over par 73 Monday with junior Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area), who tied for 17th with a 224 (+10).

Freshman Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) led SJU Blue, which placed 11th at 928 (+72), with a 225 (+11) to tie for 20th.

The Johnnies go for their fourth conference title in the last five seasons at the 2024 MIAC Championship this Saturday-Monday, Oct. 5-7, at Braemar G.C. (par 72) in Edina. The tournament's winner earns an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship scheduled for May 20-23 at Midvale C.C. in Penfield, N.Y.
