Johnnie Golf Fires a 281 (-7) to Win Triangular

SARTELL, Minn. – No. 10 Saint John's golf fired a 7-under par 281 to win its triangular on Thursday, May 2, at Blackberry Ridge G.C. (par 72).

The Johnnies won the four-team tournament by five shots ahead of Carleton (-2, 286), followed by Alexandria T.C.C. (+4, 292) and SJU Blue (+26, 314). The 7-under par is tied for the sixth-best round in program history.

Seniors Mark Longhenry (Bloomington, Minn./Holy Angels) and Blake Schuler (Waconia, Minn.) tied for first place in the 25-man field with a 4-under par 68 each.

Senior Nate Loxtercamp (Richmond, Minn./Melrose Area) collected his 10th round at par or better with an even-par 72 and classmate Sam Berger (Waconia, Minn.) added a 1-over par 73. Junior Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) served as the Johnnies' drop score at 74 (+2).

Junior Cole Proctor (Brainerd, Minn.) led SJU Blue with a 77 (+5).

The Johnnies find out if they are one of the nine at-large selections to the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships when the 43-team field is announced sometime before 3 p.m. CT Monday, May 6, on www.ncaa.com. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for May 14-17 at Boulder Creek G.C. in Boulder City, Nev.
