Hole-by-Hole Results
SARTELL, Minn. – No. 11 Saint John's golf cruised to a win at its annual Fall Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 17, at Blackberry Ridge G.C. (par 72).
The Johnnies fired a 5-under par 283 Sunday to finish with a two-round total of 569 (-3), 22 shots ahead of Concordia-Moorhead in second place (+19, 591). SJU Blue claimed third (+33, 605), followed by Whitworth (+35, 607) and a tie between SJU White and Gustavus Adolphus' second team in fifth (+40, 612).
As expected (based on the score), SJU's varsity led the tournament with 34 birdies, as well as collective scores on the par-3 holes (+6), the par-4's (+14) and the par-5's (-17).
All five varsity student-athletes finished in the top nine. Junior
Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) earned medalist honors for the first time in his collegiate career with a two-day total of 139 (-4). He totaled five birdies today for a 2-under par 70.
Senior
Nate Loxtercamp (Richmond, Minn./Melrose Area) led the 79-man field with a 4-under par 68 Sunday to finish second overall with a 141 (-2). Today's card consisted of five birdies, 12 pars and one bogey.
Senior
Blake Schuler (Waconia, Minn.) fought through a pair of double-bogeys and posted a 73 (+1) Sunday to finish in a tie for fifth with a 145 (+2).
Senior
Sam Berger (Waconia, Minn.) was a shot behind, both today (74) and for the tourney (146), to tie for seventh. Senior
Mark Longhenry (Bloomington, Minn./Holy Angels) carded an even-par 72 to take ninth with a 147 (+4).
Sophomore
Ethan Kress (Woodbury, Minn.) totaled a 76 (+4) today to finish in a tie with Schuler for fifth (+2, 145). Sophomore
Gus Briguet (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) led SJU Blue Sunday with a 74 (+2), thanks to an eagle on No. 10 (par 5, 562 yards). He tied for 20th overall (+10, 153).
Senior
Mason Sunder (Cold Spring, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) led SJU White in a tie for 10th with a 148 (+5) and classmate
Parker Bartels (Oxbow, N.D./Kindred) tied for 15th (+8, 151).
The Johnnies compete at Gustavus Adolphus' three-day Twin Cities Classic this Saturday-Monday, Sept. 23-25: Elk River C.C. (Saturday), Links at Northfork in Ramsey (Sunday) and Le Sueur C.C. (Monday).
