SJU Falls to No. 14 Carleton in Regular-Season Finale

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's soccer ended its regular-season schedule with a 2-0 loss to No. 14 Carleton on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The sixth-seeded Johnnies (7-6-4, 4-4-2 MIAC) travel to face third-seeded Gustavus Adolphus (8-3-6, 5-2-3 MIAC) in the MIAC quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in St. Peter.

The Jonathan Vonderlage-to-Ben Pennell connection provided both goals for the Knights (15-1-1, 8-1-1 MIAC) in the 29th and 47th minutes. Pennell now has 13 goals this fall.

Junior goalkeeper Evan Siefken (Lakeville, Minn./North) made six saves in the loss. Carleton posted a 17-8 advantage in shots, including a 10-1 margin in the first half.
