COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – No. 5 Saint John's University (9-1, 7-1 MIAC) earned one of the four No. 1 seeds and plays host to the University of Northwestern (6-4, 6-0 UMAC) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs this Saturday, Nov. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
The NCAA's 32-team field was announced this afternoon (Nov. 13).
The postseason appearance is the 32nd (28th at the Division III level) and eighth consecutive for the Johnnies, who earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs with their 28-10 win over No. 9 Bethel Nov. 12 in the MIAC championship game. The title is the program's MIAC-record 36th.
SJU has a 48-26 (.649) all-time postseason record, including a 25-6 record in Collegeville (16-1 in first-round games).
The Eagles are making their second NCAA appearance and first since 2016 after winning the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) with a perfect 6-0 record.
Saturday's meeting is the first for the Johnnies and Eagles on the football field since 2012. SJU owns the series with a 5-0 record.
Ticket Information
A ticket must be purchased by each patron to gain admittance to the game. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for ages 5-college (w/college ID). SJU season-ticket holders own the rights to the reserved seat/s, but must purchase a ticket to the game. SJU (game/season) or MIAC passes are invalid for NCAA games.
