WEST SALEM, Wis. – Saint John's cross country finished fourth out of 28 teams at Wisconsin-La Crosse's Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Fifth-ranked La Crosse won the meet with 42 points, followed by Iowa Central C.C. (49), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (147), SJU (159), Paradise Valley C.C. (174) and No. 10 Wisconsin-Whitewater (194).
Senior
Dillon Diekmann (Lake Elmo, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) led SJU in 18th place out of 423 runners with a time of 25:32. Juniors
Tommy Allen (Woodbury, Minn./St. Paul Academy) and
Carter Grove (Osakis, Minn.) followed in 22nd (25:37) and 29th (25:47), and sophomore
Eamon Cavanaugh (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) crossed the finish line in 49th (26:11). Senior
Alexei Hensel (Buffalo, Minn.) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 59th (26:17).
Young Finishes 80th at Division I Wisconsin's Nuttycombe Invitational B Race

Lloyd Young (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) finished 80th out of 136 runners with a time of 25:16 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational (B race) yesterday (Oct. 14) at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wis.
The Division I field included student-athletes from Air Force, Boise State, Brigham Young, Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Florida State, Furman, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Harvard, Indiana, Iona, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Northern Arizona, Notre Dame, Oregon, Portland, Providence, Santa Clara, Stanford, Syracuse, Toledo, Tulsa, Utah State, Utah Valley, Villanova, Washington and Wisconsin.
The Johnnies return to competition with the 2022 MIAC Championship at noon Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Highland 9 Golf Course in St. Paul.
