DULUTH, Minn. – Saint John's soccer opened the 2021 season with a 2-0, non-conference loss at St. Scholastica on Wednesday, Sept. 1, in Duluth.
CSS gained a 1-0 lead on a goal from Nolan Friday in the 27th minute. Jordan Finneran serviced a long ball to Finigan Huffington at the back post, who redirected a header back across the goal to Friday.
Arseno Hamilton made it 2-0 with a free kick from 54 yards out in the 59th minute.

Evan Siefken (Lakeville, Minn./North) made one save in his first collegiate appearance as SJU out-shot CSS, 10-6 (5-3 on net).
The two programs meet again at Saints Field, this time in MIAC play, Oct. 26.
The Johnnies open a three-game homestand with a 4 p.m. match against Wisconsin-Platteville this Saturday, Sept. 4, at Haws Field.
