2021 D3baseball.com All-Americans | SJU's Baseball All-Americans

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University sophomore designated hitter Max Nyrop (Alameda, Calif.) was named to the D3baseball.com All-America first team on Monday evening, June 1.

Nyrop and junior catcher Ethan Roe (Golden Valley, Minn./Blake) were named All-Midwest Region by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) earlier in the day.

Nyrop played all 41 games and led SJU in batting average (.395), hits (58), doubles (14), RBI (51), OPS (1.169), multi-hit games (18) and multi-RBI games (14). He batted .464 (26-56) with runners in scoring position and .444 (40-90) with runners on base, including 5-for-7 (.714) with the bases loaded, and recorded SJU's longest hit streak at 14 games this spring.

He fell one RBI shy of SJU's single-season record of 52 set by Ryan Roder '97 in 1997. Nyrop's 104 total bases were third-most in an SJU season and the 10 homers were fourth. In conference play, Nyrop led the MIAC in RBI (26) and finished second in hits (34), doubles (10) and slugging percentage (.644) en route to All-MIAC honors.

SJU tied for third in the MIAC with a 16-9 record (29-12 overall) and made its 11th consecutive appearance in the MIAC Tournament in 2021.
