GREENSBORO, N.C. – Saint John's senior sprinter
Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace) earned his second consecutive All-America honor in the 100-meter dash and another as a member of the Johnnies' 4x100-meter relay at the final day of the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 29, in Greensboro, N.C.
SJU finished 12th out of 121 men's teams with 19.25 points.
Miller claimed third in the 100-meter dash by an eyelash, 10.572 to 10.575 seconds, over Wisconsin-La Crosse's Josh Koenecke. J.P. Vaught of Centre (Ky.) won the title in 10.51. He advanced to the final by finishing second in the first heat, and fourth overall, with a season-best time of 10.50 seconds in Friday's prelim and is now a five-time track All-American (one indoor, four outdoor).
An hour and 25 minutes earlier, Miller and the rest of the Johnnies' the 4x100-meter relay team - junior
Jack Young (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori), sophomore
Kevin Arthur (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) and senior
Brady Labine (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) - earned All-America distinction by placing fourth overall (third in the second heat) with a time of 40.86 seconds. Wisconsin-La Crosse won the title in 40.21.
The foursome finished third overall, second in the second heat, with a season-best time of 40.85 seconds in Thursday's prelims.
