COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's soccer showcased a goal barrage in a 7-2 win over Hamline on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Collegeville.
The Johnnies (5-1, 2-0 MIAC) scored four goals in the game's first 25 minutes, including two own goals (off Hamline players into the net).

Brian Pacceli (Elizabeth, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) served as the last touch on the first own goal 3:19 into the match.
Senior forward
Patrick Erredge (St. Paul, Minn./Apple Valley) made it 2-0 with his first goal of the season in the 21st minute and created the team's third tally, another own goal, 1:23 later.

Kagan Foster (Alexandria, Minn.) scored his fourth goal of the season, with an assist to Erredge, at the 25:02 mark.
Theo Salzberg erased the shutout for Hamline (2-4, 0-2 MIAC) with 11 seconds left in the first half.

Paul Wadsworth (Tacoma, Wash./Stadium) answered for SJU with his second goal of the season, a header off a corner kick from Erredge, in the 59th minute.

Ben Becker (Richfield, Minn./Holy Angels) extended the lead to 6-1 with his fifth goal of the year in the 68th minute. Senior midfielder
Leighton Lommel (Waite Park, Minn./St. Cloud Apollo) lofted a free kick from the center circle to Becker, who deflected it from the middle of the box to the back of net.
Logan Weller tallied his sixth goal of the year for the Pipers in the 77th minute before freshman forward
Brandt Belisle (St. Paul, Minn./St. Croix Prep) ended the scoring with his first collegiate goal with three seconds remaining.

Payton Spencer (Hudson, Wis.) made six saves in the win.
The seven goals were the most scored in
John Haws' 10-season tenure and the most since a 7-2 home win over Saint Mary's on Oct. 23, 2004. SJU has recorded three games of six goals since. The seven goals were the most scored by the Johnnies against the Pipers since an 8-0 victory on Oct. 1, 1994, in St. Paul.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak in the series for SJU, which is now 31-8-3 against the Pipers since 1981, including a 17-2-2 record in Collegeville.
The Johnnies play host to Wisconsin-Whitewater (9-0-1 overall) for a 3 p.m. non-conference game on Sunday, Sept. 22, at Haws Field.
