Freshman Nets Golden Goal in Second Overtime

Box Score

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University freshman forward Guy Mohs' (Long Lake, Minn./Orono) second goal of the season, 1:21 into the second overtime, gave the Johnnies a 1-0 Homecoming win over St. Olaf on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Haws Field.

SJU sent a cross into the top of the box, where a St. Olaf defender failed to clear it. Sophomore Gabriel Leon (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Jose) headed a pass in Mohs' direction and the freshman volleyed it to the back of the net.

SJU (5-0-1, 2-0-0 MIAC) out-shot the Oles (3-5, 2-1 MIAC) 26-5, including an 11-1 advantage on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Payton Spencer (Hudson, Wis.) made one save in the victory. He now boasts a 3-0-1 record with four shutouts this season.

The Johnnies travel to face Augsburg (5-1, 2-0 MIAC) for a 7:30 p.m. game Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Edor Nelson Field in Minneapolis.
