FT. MYERS, Fla. – Saint John's baseball ended its spring-break trip with an 11-6 win over Thiel (Pa.) on Friday, March 9.
SJU (8-1 overall) erased a 5-1 deficit with six runs on seven hits in the fifth inning and added four more runs in the seventh for good measure. The Johnnies and Tomcats (1-6 overall) combined for 29 hits and 19 men left on base on the day.
Senior second baseman
Brennan Swan (Plymouth, Minn./Totino-Grace) went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI from the No. 8 spot in the lineup and sophomore shortstop
Michael Gruber (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Area) posted a 3-for-4 performance with two runs scored and a pair of RBI from the No. 9 spot in the win.
Swan ended the trip, which consisted of nine games in five days, as the Johnnies' leader in batting average (.522) and finished second in hits (12) and runs scored (12).

Nick Noack (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) relieved junior
Jake Dickmeyer (Woodbury, Minn.) and earned the win thanks to the Johnnies' six-run fifth inning. Junior

Alex Budde (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) pitched a scoreless seventh.
The Johnnies travel to Tucson, Ariz., next weekend for seven games in four days (March 17-20).
