ST. PAUL, Minn. – Saint John's hockey saw its four-game unbeaten streak come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Hamline late (8 p.m. start) Friday, Nov. 9, at the TRIA Rink in St. Paul.
SJU (3-2-1, 1-1-0 MIAC) out-shot Hamline (1-5-0, 1-1-0 MIAC) 30-19 on net, 72-27 overall, but struggled to find the back of the net. The Pipers scored two unanswered goals in the third period to seal the win.
Zak Lambrecht put HU on the scoreboard with 2:27 left in the first period. SJU out-shot HU 12-7, including 10 of the period's final 12 shots on net.
Weiland Parrish made it 2-0 with his second goal of the series, on the power play, 4:50 into the second period. HU entered the game 3-for-28 (10.7 percent) on the power play so far this season and went 1-for-3 Friday night.

Kyle Wagner (St. Francis, Minn.) cut the Johnnies' deficit in half on his second goal of the season with 4:42 left in the second period. Senior forward

Mitch McPherson added an insurance goal for HU 5:41 into the third period, 24 seconds after a SJU power play ended, and Taylor Trapp ended the scoring with 4:59 remaining.

Mac Berglove (Elk River, Minn.) made 15 saves in the loss.
The Johnnies travel to face St. Olaf for a 7:30 p.m. game next Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Northfield Ice Arena in Northfield.
