COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – No. 24 Saint John's basketball held St. Olaf to 29.6 percent (16-for-54) shooting in a 72-46 win on Saturday, Dec. 9, in Collegeville.

SJU (6-1, 3-0 MIAC) shot 62.5 percent (15-for-24) from the floor in the first half to build a 38-20 halftime lead. The Johnnies finished at 50 percent (27-for-54) for the game and led by as much as 29 in the second half. The home team led by 16 points or more for the game's final 22:03.



The Johnnies out-scored the Oles (5-2, 2-2 MIAC) 36-8 in the paint and recorded a 39-26 advantage on the glass.

Senior post Tyler Weiss (Shakopee, Minn.) fell one point shy of his second consecutive 20-point game, on 7-for-8 shooting, and grabbed five rebounds in 27 minutes.

Sophomore wing Jubie Alade (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) finished one rebound away from his first collegiate double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Junior guard David Stokman (Maple Lake, Minn.) totaled nine points and sophomore post Lucas Walford (Elko, Minn./New Prague) added five points, eight rebounds and two blocks in 19 minutes off the bench.

Austin Korba led STO with 13 points and four assists.

The Johnnies play host to Hamline (3-4, 1-3 MIAC) for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in Sexton Arena.
