Tyler Nelson (Champlin, Minn.) made 31 saves to earn his first career shutout and move to 5-3-1 on the season for SJU (8-5-2, 3-2-1 MIAC).
Becker carried the puck across the slot, approaching the right faceoff circle, and unleashed a wrister to the far, top corner of the net for his third goal of the season and sixth game-winning goal of his career. Junior forward

Superior (4-11-1, 0-2-0 WIAC) posted a 15-10 advantage in shots in the first period, but SJU responded with a 23-16 edge in the final two periods.
SJU killed off all four power-play opportunities on the night (all six on the weekend) and currently boasts the MIAC's (all games) top power play at 26.7 percent (16-for-60).
The Johnnies return to conference play with a 7:30 p.m. contest at St. Olaf this Friday, Jan. 13, at the Northfield Ice Arena. SJU returns home to host the Oles for a 7 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the HBNHC in St. Cloud.
