COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's basketball held Macalester to single digits in points for the first 14 minutes of the game in a 78-55 win on Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Collegeville.
The Johnnies (9-3, 5-2 MIAC) led by as much as 25 in the closing seconds of the first half until Dylan Kilgour banked in a deep three-pointer at the horn to cut the deficit to 42-20 for Macalester (4-8, 0-7 MIAC) at the break.
SJU led by as much as 31 (53-22) with 14:45 to play and its last starter left the court with 5:50 remaining.

Tyler Weiss (Shakopee, Minn.) led the Johnnies with 21 points, his fifth 20-point game of the season, on 8 of 11 shooting and grabbed six rebounds. Junior guard

David Stokman (Maple Lake, Minn.) tallied 12 points, six assists and five boards.
Michael Gutierrez, the MIAC's leading scorer at 20.1 points per game, led all scorers with 22 points on 7-for-15 shooting (4-for-9 from three-point) and committed seven turnovers.
SJU has now won 26 of the last 28 meetings with the Scots, and 23 of the last 24 meetings overall.
