Box Score

ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John's soccer posted a 1-0 win at Gustavus Adolphus on a blustery Wednesday, Oct. 12, in St. Peter.

Senior Rocky Harmon's (Hudson, Wis.) penalty kick 19:52 into the match proved to be the game-winning goal, the fourth of his career (13th goal overall).

Junior Daniel Bruckbauer (Fargo, N.D./Shanley) slotted a pass up the field to sophomore Zack Boerjan (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge), who burned past the defender. The Gusties' John Anderson tackled Boerjan from behind in the box to give SJU (4-5-3, 3-2-1 MIAC) a penalty kick, earn a red card and leave the home team a man down for the remaining 70 minutes of the match. GAC (4-8-1, 3-3-1 MIAC) recorded three yellow cards to the Johnnies' one and was issued another red card with 3:06 to play.

Freshman goalkeeper Nicholas French (Waterford, Wis.) made three saves to earn his second shutout of the season and improve to 4-4-3 (3-2-1 MIAC) on the year.

The Johnnies return home to host two matches this weekend, beginning with an 11 a.m. contest with Concordia-Moorhead (4-8-1, 0-7-0 MIAC) on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Haws Field. SJU then plays host to Wisconsin-Superior for a 2 p.m. non-conference game on Sunday, Oct. 16.
