DUBUQUE, Iowa – Saint John's soccer played No. 11 Loras to a 0-0 tie on Saturday night, Sept. 12, in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Johnnies (2-1-1 overall) hit the post twice in the second half, once by junior Sam Newman (St. Louis, Mo./Priory) in the 64th minute and again by sophomore Daniel Bruckbauer (Fargo, N.D./Shanley) in the 79th minute.

The Duhawks (3-0-1 overall) held a 15-11 advantage in shots (6-5 on net), corners (10-3) and fouls (14-11). Loras upset No. 2 Wheaton (Ill.) by a 2-0 score earlier this week (Sept. 8) and has reached the NCAA Division III tournament each of the past 10 seasons.

Senior goalkeeper Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) made six saves to record his first shutout of the season and 12th of his career. 

The last time a team shut out the Duhawks in the Rock Bowl occurred Nov. 12, 2011 (4-0 win by Calvin in the NCAA tournament); a span of 43 home matches.

Junior Rocky Harmon (Hudson, Wis.) led SJU with five shots, including three on goal.

The Johnnies end their Iowa trip with a 3 p.m. match at Simpson on Sunday, Sept. 13, in Indianola.
