Augsburg (1-1 overall) scored a pair of goals 15 seconds apart with just over five minutes left in the first period to gain a 2-0 lead.
Flynn took advantage of an SJU (0-1-1 overall) turnover and made it 3-0 for the Auggies with his second goal of the game at the 13:46 mark of the second period, and completed the hat trick with a shorthanded goal 5:14 later. He scored his fourth of the game on the power play 4:15 into the third period.

Saxton Soley (Elk Mound, Wis.) made 14 saves through the first two periods before he was relieved by junior
Tyler Nelson (Champlin, Minn.), who made 10 saves in his first varsity appearance.
The Auggies lost to No. 14/15 St. Thomas by a 4-2 score Friday night and had a day off, while the Johnnies tied the Tommies 4-4 Saturday night. SJU suited up six new players that did not play against UST.
Augsburg out-shot SJU, which went 0-for-3 on the power play, 29-19. SJU was whistled for six penalties, including two 5-minute majors in the loss.
The Johnnies open conference play with a pair of home games against Concordia-Moorhead on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Friday night's tilt is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by Youth Hockey Day at 2 p.m. Saturday.
