COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's scored three unanswered goals in the second half to post a 3-1 win over Hamline in the conference opener for both teams on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Collegeville.
Hamline (3-3-1, 0-1-0 MIAC) broke the scoreless tie with a goal 6:48 into the second half.
Senior
Zane Heinselman (River Falls, Wis.) answered for SJU (4-3, 1-0 MIAC) three minutes later with a laser from 35-40 yards that found the top right corner of the net. He also hit the crossbar earlier in the match, 15 minutes in.
Sophomore
Rocky Harmon (Hudson, Wis.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal, his first of the season, four minutes later. Sophomore

Freshman
Daniel Bruckbauer (Fargo, N.D./Shanley) took advantage of a Piper turnover and scored on a breakaway, his second goal of the season, with seven seconds remaining.
SJU turned it on in the second half, out-shooting Hamline 13-5 (6-2 on goal) in the final frame (20-10 overall, 10-5 on goal.
Junior
Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) made four saves to improve to 3-3 on the young season.
The Johnnies travel to face St. Olaf for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Rolf Mellby Field in Northfield.
