ST. PAUL, Minn. – A pair of third-period goals from freshman forward
Kevin Becker (Roseville, Minn.), 54 seconds apart, gave Saint John's a 3-2 win at Hamline on Friday, Feb. 7, at Oscar Johnson Arena in St. Paul.
With the game tied 1-1, Becker gave the lead back to SJU (12-8, 6-5 MIAC) 5:15 into the third period, with an assist going to senior captain
Trent Johnson (Duluth, Minn.). He gave the Johnnies a two-goal cushion, on the power play 54 seconds later, with assists awarded to sophomore forward

Senior forward
Justin Hochsprung (Alexandria, Minn.) gave SJU a 1-0 lead with 8:04 remaining, his 45th career point (17g/28a), on assists from classmate
Josh Gross (Maple Grove, Minn.) and junior forward
John Haeg (Lakeville, Minn.). The assist was Gross' 50th career point (16g/34a).
Chris Williford tied the game at 1-1 for Hamline (2-17-1, 1-10-0 MIAC) with 3:42 left in the second period. The goal was just the fourth for HU on the power play in 31 chances in conference play (12.9 percent).
Williford cut the Pipers' deficit to 3-2 with his second goal of the game with 7:35 remaining.
Sophomore goaltender
Saxton Soley (Elk Mound, Wis.) made 18 saves to earn his 10th win of the season (10-6 record). The Pipers were out-shot 10-3 in the first period, but posted a 17-12 advantage the rest of the way. Both teams went 1-for-2 on the power play.
The Johnnies return home to host the Pipers for Senior Day at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
